Of scholarship and financial assistance

Hubby and I are thankful that our kids have been awarded a scholarship and financial aid this year. You may have read my usual concern every enrolment: money. We have difficulty raising funds for enrolment, but this year, we have these scholarship and financial assistance to fall back on. First, my daughter was granted an academic scholarship which entitles her a 50 percent discount off her tuition. The scholarship also covers free school uniform (3 sets) and one set of P.E. uniform. For my son, he received P20,000 financial aid from DepEd (which goes straight to the school). This covers two- school year. We only paid for books when we enrolled him yesterday. To keep these scholarships, the kids have to maintain good grades all throughout the school year; otherwise, we have to pay their tuition in full. For now, hubby and I are beginning to save for other important expenses that our incoming college student will have.

My 11th blog makeover

I thought I told Marce K that I’m done with 10. I never realized I’ll have another one and like the other 10, this new blog won’t be complete without a unique look of its own. So, again, the exceptional blog designer surprised me with this lovely design. 🙂 I love its warm color and the vintage appeal.

What Dieters Should Know About Healthy Eating

One of the mistakes that dieters make when they are trying to lose weight is they do not eat at all. While crash dieting may work for a certain period of time, it will stop the body from burning the nutrients that it needs and it will only make you feel that you are starving. There are times when people feel weak because of the lack of food and they end up in hospitals or stopping their diets. Do remember that before a person truly diets, he or she should know the different facts about healthy eating. This way, a person can follow a certain meal plan and exercise routine that will make him or her lead a healthier life.
