Reminiscing

I couldn’t believe I wrote this seven years ago. My daughter successfully graduated from college and is already working:

I accompanied my daughter to school for the freshman orientation yesterday. I was thankful that the school allowed parents to enter the auditorium and listen to the orientation. The event was well-organized and concluded on time. The resource persons have explained well the mission and vision of the school. Important things new students need to know were presented through an audio-visual presentation. The students seem excited about the co curricular activities they can participate in besides the activities in their academic program. And just before the program ended, one of the speakers advised the students that in order for them to be successful in their studies, they need a lot of hard work and prayers.

Google Doodle: Wear a Mask

This is so cute yet effective in sending out a message to the public to protect themselves from catching the lethal Coronavirus by wearing mask. Thanks Google. More informational doodle like this, please.

Wear a mask. Save lives: Help Stop Coronavirus

Stay Home. Save Lives.

Help stop coronavirus

  1. STAY home as much as you can
  2. KEEP a safe distance
  3. WASH hands often
  4. COVER your cough
  5. SICK? Call ahead

Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions. Follow advice provided by your local health authority.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19:

1. Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
2. Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
3. Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.
4. Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
5. Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
6. Stay home if you feel unwell.
7. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.

Calling in advance allows your healthcare provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This protects you, and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections.

Masks

Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your local health authority.

Online Distance Learning

The CIIT College of Arts and Technology promotes Online Distance Learning Term to help new and current students continue their education amid the pandemic.

K is currently enrolled at CIIT, taking up Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BAMMA) through virtual classes.

(Visit the school site to know more about the school offering.)

The subjects given under the ODLT are fewer, and discussions per hour are shorter to meet the demand of online classes. The setup sees to it that students will have more time with their families during the quarantine period.

K has adjusted from the virtual classes well. He has his room with basic things he needs to keep up with the lessons.
