She wrote this while she was at the retreat house. The letter reached us through our daughter’s class adviser. He enclosed the letter with the report card that was released last Saturday.
Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I may not say this always but I’ve always been thankful for everything. I know that we have misunderstandings at times but despite these problems, you’re still my parents, the people who introduced me into this world and cared for me up to this day, and I’ll always love you till my last breath. Honestly, I’m not a perfect daughter and there are times when I don’t seem to be appreciative, which is not true by the way, it’s just that I’m not used to showing it but inside, I feel like I’m the happiest daughter in the world for I am very lucky to have you as my parents. I know that you work hard for us and I’m doing my best to graduate so I can make you happy and proud, and most of all, a reward for all of your hard work.
You daughter,
Naomi
…Hubby and I read this letter together and we’re both happy and thankful to know that our daughter appreciates the things that we do for the family…
