If a picture paints a thousand words, then you should know better to take the perfect portrait, lest those thousand words turn into undecipherable gibberish. People love posing for the camera, and if you, the budding photographer have been tasked to take somebody’s portrait, do remember the following simple tips:

Move the viewfinder in such a way that your subject isn’t smack right in the middle of the frame. That is simply boring. Put your subject a little off-center to make the picture more interesting.

It would also be good to have your subject tilt her head a bit, and not have her look straight into the lens as if you were taking mug shots of her. She could also slightly move her body to one side, so things won’t look so rigid.

Taking portraits is easy, as if you were a reincarnated Michelangelo painting his Mona Lisa.
