When Moms Relax

Today, I got to be somebody different. No, I didn’t suddenly turn into a superhero. For once, I got to be a passenger instead of the driver. Being a passenger is something I cherish, since most of the time, I am the one behind the steering wheel. For once, it felt good to just be a spectator in life, and not be the one directing things. It simply felt liberating to feel the wind blowing in my face as I stared out the car window. I felt free, without a care in the world.

We moms are drivers of our families’ lives. We make sure that all their needs are taken care of. If anything happens to our kids, we feel highly responsible. That’s why it feels good to take a back seat once in a while and just watch life pass us by… even for one brief shining moment. And then it’s back to vacuuming the living room carpet, picking up myrsol aftershave and all the clutters left by the children.
