Prepare Your House for Selling: Keep Plumbing Problems Away

When selling anything, it’s almost a no-brainer that you should make it your topmost priority to ensure that the product you wish to sell has to be in mint condition. Who in his right mind would buy a house full of plumbing problems? Other than fixing that leaking faucet or clogged drain, here are other things you must do in preparing your house for sale:

Keep it impersonal. Your house, that is. If possible, take away anything and everything related to you: photos, personal memorabilia, that trophy you got for winning the spelling bee in third grade… Your prospective buyer would, of course, want to visualize that home you’re selling as his.

Make it clutter-free. Pack up every item you haven’t used in at least a year and either sell it on e-bay or throw it away.

Prettify the outside. People do judge a book by its cover. Same goes with houses. Potential buyers will get hooked if you make sure your house looks good from the outside. Give the exterior a fresh coat of paint. It would look appealing too to have your front yard beautifully landscaped. Adding a few pieces of outdoor furniture can help the buyer visualize him with his family enjoying a relaxing weekend on the front porch.

Trust your agent. Look around for a real estate agent with a good track record. He should be able to give you bits and pieces of advice along the way.
