Yoga for Life

If I have the opportunity to attend and cover a health event as a blogger, I’d like it to be the activity spearheaded by Yoga for Life (YFL). YFL is a community assisting people with HIV through yoga and meditation. The community will lead the mass yoga practice to commemorate the 30th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial in the Philippines on Sunday (May 26, 2013).

Yoga for Life spearheads advocates and health and wellness practitioners to flex, breathe, and meditate in joint advocacy for a more effective response to HIV and AIDS.

On a personal note, I’d like to be able to learn and practice yoga and be updated with the local development on HIV and AIDS prevention campaign. There’ll be a lot of familiar faces in the event and I’d be happy to catch up with them.

The yoga instructor will surely provide easy-to-follow yoga steps for the elders using a sound system like universal audio apollo so she can be heard clearly by participants.

YFL is an activity to look forward to. I really hope to be a part of it.

Nepali handicrafts and gongs

I asked my husband where he wanted to go when he retires. He said he would like to visit Nepal for a vacation. He is planning a trek in the Himalayas while I’m going to look for beaded jewelry and handicraft at the souvenir flea market there. Nepal beaded accessories are known for their eccentric designs.I also love their colorful handbags. Native products doesn’t go out of style and its cheaper since they are made of locally produced materials.

I saw these Nepali and Tibetan items sold online where they distribute handwoven handbags to gongs. I found this Army Green Felt Tibetan Wool shoulder handbag. I’m going to reserve it as Christmas gift for my daughter. I’m sure she’ll love it.Hubby, on the other hand, is interested to buy a gong or a crystal singing bowl.

I told him about my interest to learn yoga for a less strenuous activity. The gong or singing bowl that only cost a few hundred bucks can be used for meditation and relaxation. It may sound absurd, but the vibration and resonance they produce has calming effect to the body. So when we really try out yoga these tools could enhance the effect of meditation to our wellness.
