Thank God

My husband attended a seminar workshop in 2008 and furnished a worksheet that contains this poem.

I am thankful for a whole lot of things specially for those I don’t always see.

For my wife who is nagging me,
Thank God, she is at home with me and not with someone else.

For my husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato,
Thank God he is at home with me and not out to the bars.

For the teenager who is complaining about doing the dishes,
Thank God that means she is at home with me and not in the streets.

For the taxes that I pay,
Thank God that means I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a party,
Thank God it means that I am surrounded by friends.

For the windows that need cleaning and the gutters that need fixing,
Thank God I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government,
Thank God we have a freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the end of the parking lot,
Thank God I am capable of walking and I am blessed with a car.

For the lady behind me in church who sings off-key,
Thank God I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing,
Thank God I have clothes to wear.

…..And finally, for too much email…..
Thank God I have friends who are thinking about me!
