A Trip to The Grocers

Do you simply want to do away with buying another kilo of onions only to find out that you have another pack stashed in your pantry? Or are you tired of discovering all those spoiled veggies in your refrigerator a few weeks after you went to the grocers? Such big disappointment and a waste of money, right?

Here are a few tips on how you can make the most and save the most when you do your groceries.

  • Firstly, take note of all that you need to buy including those incontinence products before taking a trip to the market or the grocers.
  • Survey your ref, storage and pantry. Make a mental note or an actual check list, if you must.
  • In the grocers, get only the freshest of meat and fish products and buy only a week’s worth of groceries to prevent food spoilage, especially of fresh meat, fish and vegetables.
  • Make sure to keep the meats in iced container, too, to keep them fresh during a long travel back home.
  • Once you got home, make sure to wash meat, fish and vegetables thoroughly before storing them in see-through containers so that you will have an easier time locating them or be reminded of them the next time you plan your next family meal.

Best time to do grocery shopping

grocery

The best time to do grocery shopping is early in the morning or on weekend nights. There are a handful of people inside the grocery shop at this time so you don’t have to worry about waiting in line. I’ve also noticed that personnel at the grocery shop are more accommodating in the morning. Even those handling kontrol x1 appear friendly to customers. They are polite and don’t look bad-tempered. If you shop early you’ll also get the best choices of fresh produce. So if you can plan your next grocery shopping ahead of time, don’t do it after work, which is between 5 to 7 p.m. because it’s the busiest.

Stylish shopping ecobag

I have two ecobags courtesy of Marce Peh. I have used both Sati and PMC bags on separate occasions many times. But I have yet to bring them to the wet market as I don’t want the cloth bag to get dirty with fish or meat scum. I also brought my cute bags alternately in a few important occasions.

Lately, I’m thinking of checking on apple bottom clothes when I raised enough money and will surely bring one of my ecobags to shop. 🙂

You can make your own eco friendly shopping bags using old clothes or have someone sew it for you with your own design.
